Project Overview
This upper garden was transformed into a practical and inviting outdoor space by the SilvaTree team. The new garden now makes better use of the available area while retaining the character of five existing mature trees.
The new garden design combines Raj Green sandstone paving, a flowing garden walkway, two seating areas, a larger garden shed and a fresh lawn to create a balanced landscape for relaxing, entertaining and everyday use.
Garden Design Featuring Existing Trees
The five mature trees played an important role in shaping the new garden design. Rather than working against them, the layout was carefully planned around their existing positions, allowing them to naturally define different areas of the landscape.
This helped retain the established character of the garden while creating a layout that feels considered and connected.
Raj Green Sandstone Paving & Patio
A flowing walkway was introduced to provide a clear and attractive route through the upper garden, connecting the different areas and making the space easier to navigate. The pathway leads towards a carefully positioned seating area and the new, larger Overlord Corner Shed, which provides generous garden storage while fitting neatly into the overall layout.
Raj Green sandstone was used throughout the hard landscaping to bring warmth, natural variation and consistency to the garden.
A generous rectangular sandstone patio provides plenty of room for outdoor seating and entertaining, while a central circular patio creates a smaller, more intimate area for sitting and relaxing amongst the mature trees.
Using the same sandstone across the patios and connecting hard landscaping helps the different areas feel like part of one cohesive garden design.
Turfing Installation
A new lawn was laid to soften the hard landscaping and create a fresh, open area at the heart of the garden. Its natural green tones complement the existing trees while providing an attractive contrast against the warm colours of the Raj Green sandstone.
The combination of lawn, mature trees and paving gives the garden a balanced finish without making the space feel overly landscaped.
Project Outcome
The completed upper garden now feels spacious, established and inviting. By designing around the existing mature trees and introducing clearly defined areas for seating, entertaining, storage and lawn, the available space is now much easier to use.
The Raj Green sandstone brings the different elements together, while the retained trees and new lawn ensure the garden maintains its natural character. The result is a practical, comfortable outdoor space that can be enjoyed throughout the seasons.
