Sustainability Policy

At SilvaTree, sustainability forms a key element through the initial planning and building/planting stages of any new garden project.

We aim to combine organic gardening practices with resource conservation through forward-thinking, valuing ecosystem support and reducing the negative impact on the earth in the process where possible.

We offer and encourage clients to make choices that reflect our sustainability ethos – practices which include:

  • growing a wide variety of plants and creating habitats to increase biodiversity
  • using locally sourced native plants
  • mulching and composting
  • collecting rainwater runoff in rain barrels
  • keeping waste to a minimum
  • creating low maintenance landscapes
  • maximising reuse of resources – from plants and turfs to railway sleepers and old timber
  • encouraging clients to paint fencing instead of replacing old for new
  • choosing sustainable timber
  • using sustainably harvested materials for fencing and decks
  • being fully automated so totally paper-free

We aim to reduce, reuse and recycle wherever possible to preserve and protect our future and the future of our limited resources.
